2016 IOM European Championship

The 2016 International One Metre European Championship is organized by the Club Náutico de Vitoria in association with the Asociación Española de Vela Radiocontrol, Real Federación Española de Vela, Federación Vasca de Vela y Federación Alavesa de Vela, as approved by the International One Metre Class Association and under the overall authority of ISAF.
The 2016 International One Metre Class European Championship will be held at Ullibarri Gamboa lake.

The event will be governed by rules as defined in the 2013-2016 Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS). RRS appendix E will apply, and following documents:

In order that a disabled competitor may be able to compete on equal terms, the race committee shall make as fair an arrangement as possible.
No National prescriptions will apply.
The Jury will publish a document setting out an accelerated procedure for protests and requests for redress.
76 competitors will be accepted as per the class Championship Rules, para 8. The competition is open to International One Metre class boats selected by an IOM National Class Association in good standing with IOMICA and IRSA. The ISAF Regulations regarding eligibility apply with the additional requirements of the IOMICA Class Championship Regulations.
4.1 A valid IOM Class Certificate for each boat must be submitted on or before May 25th , 2016. An e-mail copy is acceptable; however the original must be made available at registration .Boats together with their measurement certificates shall be presented for the registration from Friday 12:00h 24th June 2016 to Sunday 11:00h 26 June 2016.
Equipment Inspection from Saturday 9:00h 25th June to Sunday 12:00h June 26th 2016.
The Race Committee may extend the time for registration and inspection if there is a valid reason to do so. No boat shall be eligible to race until it has been registered and has passed equipment inspection.
4.2 Eligible boat may enter by completing the entry form on this web site and sending it with the required fee.
It is intended that all boats will pass equipment inspection before Sunday June 26th, 12:00 h . Nonetheless, the Race Committee may at any time request the Equipment Inspector to confirm that a boat complies with the IOM Class Rules. Random spot checks may be made throughout the event.
The permitted frequency bands are 35 MHz and 2.4 GHz. Each competitor must have a minimum of 4 frequencies available except on 2.4 GHz.
7.1 Entry fees will be € 430 per competitor, including 10€ IOMICA.

7.2.1 Fees shall be paid in EURO €.
7.2.2 Fees shall be free of bank commissions. Any bank fee will be charged to the competitors.

The Sailing Instructions will be available at registration and may be available before hand on the event website.
10.1 An International Jury conforming to RRS Appendix N shall be appointed and the right of appeal is denied under RRS 70.5.
10.2 The International Jury will umpire racing in accordance with IRSA Addendum Q. Additional National Judges and National Umpires may be appointed to assist.
10.3 Competitors will be required to undertake Observer duties.
10.4 When a hearing is conducted by a Jury panel under rule N1.4 (b) the right to request a hearing by a full International Jury is maintained. However, after the warning signal of any heat to which a party to the hearing may be promoted, any decision or redress shall not change the race schedule for that race. This changes rules 64.1 and 64.2
11.1 The Championship will be raced and scored under the Heat Management System (HMS). Version to be used will be confirmed in SI.
11.2 Five completed races shall constitute the championship.
12.1 All those entering or taking part in this Championship do so at their own risk and responsibility. ISAF, IRSA, The International One Metre International Class Association, Club Náutico de Vitoria , Asociación Española de Vela de Radiocontrol , Federación Española de Vela , Federación Vasca de Vela y Federación Alavesa de Vela , and any other parties involved in the organization of this event disclaim any and every responsibility whatsoever for loss, damage, injury or inconvenience that might occur to persons and goods, both on the water and ashore as a consequence of entering or participating in the Championship covered by this Notice of Race.
12.2 At all times the responsibility for the safety of their boat and themselves including the decision to participate or continue shall rest with the competitor. By entering the event it is deemed that you accept these conditions. Competitors are advised to ensure that they have adequate personal insurance that provides cover for public liability and their possible injury in Spain.
